“The Americans” Review: Keri Russell Gets Her Spy On
Maureen Ryan’s take on FX’s new Cold War spy drama starring Keri Russell (“Felicity”!) and Matthew Rhys (“Brothers & Sisters”):
If “Argo” gave you a yen to see great character actors wear mustard-colored clothing and play beleaguered intelligence types, you should definitely give “The Americans” a sustained try.
Also look at that great photo of Keri Russell.

“American Horror Story Season 3 scoop!
Jessica Lange will be joined by Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters in the new season. Plus romance, fun and gowns?
“I really miss that Jessica Lange as Constance stuff and I know she missed it too,” Murphy said. “So the only thing I’ll say about [Season 3] is it is a mixture of several cities, and it’s really about female power and I got Jessica to do it because I did everything she asked, which was the location [and] I told her that she will have complete hair and makeup and the best designer gowns. She said ‘please don’t put me in a wimple again,’ so she’s going to play a really glamour-cat sort of lady in Season 3. I’m just now meeting up with a lot of actors so I don’t want to say too much, actors that Jessica wants to work with. So she’s become the uncredited producer of Season 3.”

“American Horror Story: Asylum” Recap
Monsignor: “Please, Jude, don’t be childish.” Jude: “Childish? Hell, I’m the queen of Candyland.”
Last night’s episode of “AHS” was divisive, that’s for sure. Split up between Kit, Lana and Sister Jude, the episode was all over the place in terms of story and time.
The TV Screen’s take:

“Continuum” had me intrigued for about 10 minutes, and then Kit interrupted a “Real Housewives”-esque fight between Alma and Grace with “What’s goin’ on? … Let’s have a family meeting.” Going into the episode, I had already known it was going to be split up between the different storylines and I was completely for that. But the way it was written threw off the pacing of the episode and it just ended up a pretty big let down.

Also: RIP Pepper

“American Horror Story: Asylum” GIF Recap: 2 Deaths (?) & A Musical Number (!?)
Let’s just stop all awards shows and just give everything to Jessica Lange. Amiright? Whenever I watch “AHS” I just want to throw awards and accolades at her. The GIF above, her musical number (also props to Sarah Paulson and Naomi Grossman (Pepper!) for being standouts as well), was so fabulous. FABULOUS.

There’s an “American Horror Story: Asylum” musical number tonight.

Is there anything that truly shocked you when reading the script?
You haven’t seen Episode 10, but there is one of my very favorite, which I think is shocking, but in a positive way I think.

Is it the musical scene?
Yes.

Is that something you wanted to do or had asked to do?
All along, I said, “Give me something where I can sing or I can dance.” And he gave me a brief moment in the nightclub in one of the earlier episodes and this scene, one day, I got the lyrics and music to this song and I couldn’t figure out what it was. [Laughs.] But it is actually quite startling when it happens. It was one of my favorite moments so far.

Jessica Lange talks “American Horror Story: Asylum,” Season 3 plans & More
“Everything gets put in motion now as far as Briarcliff and the demise of that institution and everybody’s departure from it, except mine,” Lange said. “She actually does try to right the wrongs that she has done but of course she’s totally trapped within her own making in a way.”
