Goodbye, you magnificent creature.
In advance of the series finale, I wrote a final salute to “Damages” and Patty Hewes. It doesn’t contain any significant spoilers, just my thoughts on how Patty and the Patty/Ellen relationship changed TV.

I finished “Damages” this morning. I have what some people may call “feelings.”

Spending my evening watching the final three episodes of “Damages.” I’m not ready for this.

"I think they might be. I mean, any ending in this day and age is controversial. There are certain aspects of it that I might have a few points about, but ultimately speaking, I think it’s a great ending."

— Glenn Close on whether fans will be satisfied by the “Damages” series finale.

It’s all coming to an end. Is Ellen Parsons dead? What will the finale bring fans? I talked to Glenn Close, Rose Byrne and creators KZK about all those questions AND MORE. Get ready, it’s going to get CRAZY.

"I think there may be some heartbreak. There certainly will be resolution," Glenn Kessler said. "Hopefully fans of the show will be excited by the elements that we bring back from the first season and kind of expand and give them more about the origin story between Patty and Ellen and hopefully we answer questions they may have had about why Ellen has maintained this relationship with Patty. We hope it’s an exciting and satisfying conclusion."

Goodbye To Hewes: Glenn Close

Growing Up Parsons: Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne is saying goodbye to Ellen Parsons, a character she’s basically grown up with.

How are you saying goodbye to Ellen? Bit by bit, I guess. It’s been really fun this season because she’s been pushed and she’s done a lot of compromising things and a lot of fun things, things that I haven’t gotten to do before. She’s slowly become tougher and tougher and tougher. [Laughs.]

Click here to read more from my interview with Rose on the set of the “Damages” series finale. She talks favorite guest stars, missing Glenn Close and how she’s become very protective of Ellen.
