Well, the sh— hit the fan on “The Good Wife” in “Hitting The Fan,” the appropriately titled fifth episode of Season 5. Alica (Julianna Margulies) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) made their exit from Lockhart/Gardner and Florrick/Agos & Associates was born.
"The Good Wife" has never been better. Everything literally hits the fan in "Hitting The Fan," a riveting hour of TV that I wished could have lasted forever. This was not only one of the best episodes of "The Good Wife," but one of the best episodes of TV.
Archie Panjabi knows viewers want more Kalinda on “The Good Wife,” but she’s enjoying the amount of screentime her co-stars have been getting with the big Lockhart/Gardner exit storyline. “I think what’s fun about it is just the reboot quality for the show and the last time we had a big storyline like that was when Kalinda was found out [to have slept] with Peter, so it’s really nice to see Christine Baranski have some really good storylines and really shine, and Matt have some time on screen because last year he didn’t really have much,” Panjabi told The Huffington Post in a phone interview.
"The Good Wife" is poised to turn everything on its head with one fell swoop with "Hitting The Fan," the fifth episode of Season 5. So much so that it feels like a finale and premiere all rolled into one.
